Howard County Sheriff's Office purchases 2012 Kawasaki Utility Vehicle

The Howard County Sheriff’s Office purchased a 2012 Kawasaki 4x4 utility vehicle and a 12 X 6 trailer from Futrell Kawasaki in Nashville.  The equipment was purchased with federal funds from a Homeland Security Grant Program named Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Activities.  The grant is administered by the State of Arkansas Department of Emergency Management.  Our local OES office receives similar grants for our local fire departments each year.  The equipment was purchased with funds for the grant year of 2010.  The LETPA grant for the year 2010 was in the amount of $16,462.99.

The addition of the 4X4 utility vehicle to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office will be a great asset for us.  We have needed this type of equipment for several years and without the federal grant we would never been able to purchase it.
