JERRY WHITE ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

On December 18, 2010 at approximately 10:00 P.M. Howard County Deputies Jade Hughes and Steven Wakefield conducted a traffic stop on Spring St. in Mineral Springs.  Deputies could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.  Deputies searched the vehicle and found a clear plastic baggie with a white powdery substance inside.  Deputies found a bag of marijuana on the driver of the vehicle.  The driver of the vehicle was Jerry D. White, b/m, dob-7/1/1989, of 214 Bluff Springs Rd.  Mineral Springs, AR.  As the deputies were attempting to arrest the Jerry White he fled on foot.  Deputies were unable to apprehend Jerry White at that time.  Deputies conducted a more thorough search of the vehicle and located a 12 gauge Remington shotgun in the trunk of the vehicle.  At approximately 1:40 A.M. on December 19, 2010 Jerry White and his mother came to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office and Jerry turned himself in to officers.  Jerry White is being charged with Fleeing and Possession of a Controlled Substance.  The investigation is continuing.
